China overtakes U.S. and Germany as top tractor supplier to Ukraine

Between January and August 2026, the dollar value of tractors imported into Ukraine increased by 3.2% compared to the identical period in 2025, climbing to $572.4 million, according to State Customs Service data cited by Interfax-Ukraine.

China captured the largest single share of imports, supplying 19.8% of the total, valued at $113.3 million. Germany followed closely in second place with a 19.6% share ($112.2 million), while the United States ranked third at 16.6% ($95 million).

The balance of trade marked a noticeable shift from January–August 2025, when the United States led the market with $113.2 million in tractor exports to Ukraine, followed by China in second place with $99.5 million and Germany in third with $92 million.

Ukrainian domestic producers exported $6.57 million worth of tractors over the first eight months of 2026. The shipments went overwhelmingly to Belgium, which accounted for 25.4% of Ukrainian tractor exports. Over the same period in 2025, Ukraine exported $4 million in tractors, with deliveries primarily destined for Romania (31.6%).
