It is not yet possible to assess the extent of the damage, and production has been suspended, Imperial Brands' press service said. It remains unclear when the factory will resume operations.
Imperial Brands is a British tobacco company and one of the world's four largest tobacco manufacturers. It operates in 120 countries and employs 25,000 people.
In 2002, the Kyiv Tobacco Factory became part of Imperial Tobacco Group. The company has invested more than 50 million pounds ($68 million) in production during its operations in Ukraine, according to company data.
The combined revenue of Imperial Brands Ukraine LLC and Imperial Brands Production Ukraine LLC rose 20.1% to UAH 12.5 billion ($302 million) in the first half of 2026, according to YouControl. Their combined profit fell 37.4% to UAH 411.2 million ($9.9 million).
