Patrol officers rescue frightened cats from building hit by Russian drone

Officers found one of the cats in a smoke-filled corridor. The frightened animal was reunited with its owners, who had been searching for it.

Patrol officers found a second cat near the damaged building.

The animal had suffered burns and was exhausted, so officers took it to a veterinary clinic and handed it over to specialists for treatment.

Police later located the cat’s owner, reassured her and told her where her pet was being treated.

Russia attacked Kyiv with drones overnight on Sept. 11, with a strike causing a fire in a nine-story residential building in the Dniprovskyi district. At least seven people were injured.

Another Russian drone attack hit the capital later that day.

City authorities reported strikes on gas stations in the Obolonskyi and Dniprovskyi districts, with two people killed.

Two strikes were later recorded on an office building in the Podilskyi district.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said a building belonging to Ukrainian telecommunications company Kyivstar was among the sites hit in Kyiv.
