The bout is being planned for March 2027 in the United States, The Ring insider Mike Coppinger reported, citing Usyk team director Serhii Lapin.
Wilder, 40, held the WBC heavyweight title from 2015 to 2020 and defeated 10 opponents in world championship bouts.
The American began his professional career with 32 consecutive knockout victories. However, he has won only five of his last 10 fights.
Usyk’s career after relinquishing titles
Usyk fought kickboxer Rico Verhoeven in Giza, Egypt, on May 23.
The Ukrainian won by technical knockout with one second remaining in the 11th round, successfully defending his WBC heavyweight title.
Usyk relinquished all three of his heavyweight championship belts — the IBF, WBC and WBA titles — on June 26.
The WBC subsequently named Germany’s Agit Kabayel its new heavyweight champion, while Russian boxer Murat Gassiev became the WBA titleholder.
Wilder has since emerged as one of the most likely opponents for Usyk’s next fight.
Usyk has previously discussed two possible paths for continuing his career and explained why he wants to face the American.
