Russian strike on Kherson power facility causes outages, water rationing

The official described the electricity situation as “complex,” noting that energy workers are doing everything possible to restore power but cannot predict when repairs will be completed. Prokudin urged residents to prepare for prolonged outages.  

At 3:28 p.m., Kherson city military administration head Yaroslav Shanko announced that, due to the power disruption, water in Kherson will be supplied only from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. until emergency repairs are finished, with no specified timeline.

Earlier on June 11, power outages also hit Mykolaiv and Kherson oblasts. Mykolaiv’s outages resulted from an unrelated emergency shutdown, not Russian attacks, according to local reports. 

Mykolaiv Mayor Oleksandr Senkevich later confirmed electricity was restored in some city districts.
