Russia has damaged 16 Kyiv gas stations in 2026; city sees no fuel shortage

“First and foremost, our citizens must follow safety precautions and stay in shelters. Gas stations must close during air raid alerts, and all customers and employees must evacuate to the nearest shelter,” Tkachov said.

He said Russia had deliberately targeted gas stations in the capital. The Kyiv City Military Administration said Kyiv’s fuel market remained stable.

Russia attacked Kyiv with jet-powered drones overnight into Sept. 15, and the attack continued into the morning. Russian drones struck two gas stations in the Darnytskyi and Holosiivskyi districts, warehouses in the Obolonskyi district and nonresidential buildings in the Solomianskyi district.

The latest attack on two Kyiv gas stations severely damaged the stations’ buildings and equipment, and Russia struck one of them again, Ukrnafta said. Ukrnafta CEO Bohdan Kukura confirmed that Russian jet-powered drones struck two of the company’s gas station complexes on Sept. 15, one on Kyiv’s right bank and the other on the left bank.

He called the attack “another deliberate strike on civilian facilities that provide people with fuel and essential goods.”

“Such attacks serve no military purpose. This is terror against civilians. Ukrnafta will restore the damaged facilities and continue serving its customers,” he said.

On Sept. 10, a Russian drone struck a Ukrnafta gas station in Kyiv’s Holosiivskyi district, sparking a fire. Four people were injured.

On Sept. 11, Russian drones struck Ukrnafta gas stations in two Kyiv districts.
