Odesa death toll rises to 2 after Sept. 12 Russian strike

Emergency responders in Odesa have completed rescue and recovery operations at a 25-story residential building damaged in a massive Russian attack on Sept. 12. The death toll has risen to two, according to Ukraine's State Emergency Service.
25 people were injured. Seven people were rescued, including two children.

Rescuers found the body of another person under the rubble overnight, raising the death toll to two, according to Odesa military governor Serhii Lysak. Among the 26 injured, one is a child.

On Sept. 12, a massive combined Russian strike on Odesa sparked fires in apartments on the 21st through 23rd floors of the 25-story residential building. Significant destruction was reported.
On Sept. 13, Russian forces struck Odesa again. The city’s military administration reported damage to a high-rise building, private homes, two educational facilities and infrastructure sites. No casualties were reported.
