Ukrainian intel publishes data on over 50 Russian electronics firms

Ukraine’s military intelligence (HUR) said the companies mainly develop and produce electronic warfare systems, “friend-or-foe” state identification systems, and onboard avionics for Russian military aircraft, including fighter jets and helicopters.

The list of products also includes electric motors, navigation and control systems for drones, anti-drone systems, and remote platforms for operating machine guns, HUR said.

The intelligence agency added that KRET also plays a role in the production of Russian ballistic missiles. According to HUR:

• the Stavropol plant Signal manufactures and supplies sets of S200A1 small jamming stations for 9M723 Iskander-M missiles;
• the Kaluga Research Institute of Radio Engineering supplies 3B228 radio-protection system blocks for 3M22 Zircon missiles;
• Parent company JSC KRET directly covers financing shortfalls in Russian state defense orders carried out by enterprises within the concern.

HUR said that 19 of the 54 enterprises it has identified are not currently under sanctions by any state in the sanctions coalition.

Among them are:

• JSC Inertial Technologies of Technokompleks, which produces and supplies strapdown inertial navigation systems for Kh-59M2/Kh-59M2A guided air-launched missiles and Orion unmanned aerial systems;
• the Tambov Plant Elektropribor, which specializes in supplying gyroscopes for 9M727 cruise missiles used in the Iskander operational-tactical missile system;
• JSC Ulan-Ude Instrument-Making Production Association, which manufactures aircraft automation blocks, radio-navigation equipment and electric motors for drones.

Earlier, HUR said Russia had run into problems obtaining Chinese-made jet engines for drones thanks to actions by Ukraine’s partners.

In recent weeks, Russia has turned jet-powered drones and missile-like unmanned systems into its main airstrike tools against Ukraine. Among the most common are the Geran-4 and the low-cost improvised missile known as Banderol.
