Ukrainian veterans with amputations walk in JULIYA KROS show at Ukrainian Fashion Week

Veterans joined models on the runway for the finale of JULIYA KROS' spring-summer 2027 collection. The collection tells a story of the strength to create something new, recover and move forward despite the consequences of war, including limb loss.

Veterans with limb loss presented adaptive looks from the RECONSTRUCTION collection, designed to meet the needs of people recovering from injuries.

"RECONSTRUCTION is not about going back to the way things were. It is about the strength to create something new. In the RECONSTRUCTION collection, clothing becomes a metaphor for the individual. Its transformations serve as a reminder that adaptation does not mean losing yourself, but rather discovering new possibilities while remaining true to who you are. For JULIYA KROS, clothing has always been more than form. It is a tool for adaptation. Freedom. And conscious choice. Every transformation of a garment demonstrates that new possibilities emerge precisely when life forces us to change," the collection's description said.

For designer Yuliia Perekriostova and the JULIYA KROS team, creating the RECONSTRUCTION collection was one of the most challenging and significant periods in the brand's history. While the collection was being developed, a Russian strike damaged JULIYA KROS' production facility in Sumy. The team was not injured, but the attack disrupted its usual workflow, production processes and sense of stability. The team continued its work.

JULIYA KROS is a Ukrainian conceptual clothing brand founded by Perekriostova in 2015. The brand actively develops inclusive design. Its fall-winter 2026/2027 show also featured designs with adaptive and transformable elements.

Earlier, Ukrainian veteran Mykola Shot, who lost both arms and legs after being wounded on the front line, completed his first paragliding flight.
