Ukrainian Railways denies report of strike near Kyiv train station

On Sept. 2, the monitoring channel eRadar claimed that Russia had struck railway infrastructure near Kyiv's Central Railway Station.

"We ask that you rely only on information from Ukrainian Railways’ official channels," the company said.

Since the start of the day on Sept. 2, air raid alerts have sounded repeatedly in Kyiv and the surrounding region over the threat of Russian drones.

An explosion was heard in Kyiv, and the Kyiv City Military Administration reported that air defenses were active. Monitoring channels reported a Shahed drone over the center of the capital, near the Universytet and Vokzalna metro stations and the Lukyanivka neighborhood.

A Russian drone struck a six-story residential building in Kyiv's Shevchenkivskyi district. The morning Shahed attack on Kyiv also sparked a fire at an educational facility in the Holosiyivskyi district, while a medical facility was damaged in the Shevchenkivskyi district, the Kyiv administration reported.

The six-story building struck by the Russian drone was partially destroyed. The number of people injured in Kyiv has risen to four.
