Stolen Melitopol oil extraction plant’s logos removed from Russian stand at Gulfood exhibition in Dubai

The logos of the seized Ukrainian Melitopol sunflower oil extraction plant (SEP) were removed from the Russian stand at the Gulfood food industry exhibition in Dubai following reports in the Ukrainian media, the major agribusiness website Latifundist.com reported on Feb. 22, citing Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleh Nikolenko.
"After the intervention of the Ukrainian embassy, the stand was cleared (of the logos)," he said.
The Melitopol plant's logos have been replaced, and the stand now bears only the logos of the Rostov-on-Don-based Russian company NTA Agrocom, which specializes in grain and oilseed trading, according to the photo provided by a Latifundist.com reader.
The Melitopol SEP’s owners are Sergey and Lyudmila Zheleva, a Melitopol couple who founded the company before the Russian occupation of the city. They also registered a Russian legal entity of the same name.
Sergey Zhelev was the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Bulgaria in Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhya, Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts. His wife is still a member of the regional council representing the ruling Servant of the People Party. She has not attended council meetings since the start of the full-scale invasion.
