Mother uses state compensation to asphalt street named in honor of fallen son
Valentyna Hryshchenko, the mother Ukrainian hero Vladyslav Hryshchenko, killed on the front on July 14, 2022, paid almost $100,000 (UAH 3.5 million) of compensation funds received from the state to asphalt a street named after her son in the village of Sosnytsia in Chernihiv Oblast, the local community reported.
"We are grateful to you for your son and your actions,” the community said in a statement.
“The residents of the street and the entire community will never forget Vladyslav Hryshchenko – a true hero," the statement said.
The villagers also heartfelt gratitude and paid tribute to their fallen fellow villager with a moment of silence.
