‘Separate cauldron in hell’ – Ukraine’s Olympic champion fencer outraged after attack on hometown of Odesa

Ukraine’s Olympic champion fencer Olha Kharlan shared her outrage over the Russian attack on her hometown of Odesa on July 23 and the destruction of the Transfiguration Cathedral by a direct Russian rocket hit in a devastating post on Instagram.
In a passionate message addressed to the Russians, the two-time world champion strongly condemned Russia’s actions.
“A separate cauldron in hell is waiting for you. With a capacity for many millions (of people),” the six-time European champion wrote, showing the depth of her anger and frustration.
Russian forces used five types of missiles during the devastating July 23 attack that killed one civilian, injured 22 more, and left bomb craters across the historic city center.
Last month, Kharlan won a gold medal at the 2023 European Games, showing her resilience amidst the ongoing turmoil and challenges faced by her homeland.
Ukraine’s football stars also took to social media to colorfully display their disgust at Russia’s attack on Odesa.
