Forty-three Russian soldiers refuse combat in Luhansk Oblast
43 Russian soldiers have refused to fight in occupied Luhansk Oblast, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported on Dec. 30.
According to the Ukrainian military, these soldiers belong to Russia’s 150th Motorized Rifle Division, and were deployed to take part in combat operations in Ukraine’s east. However, they refused to carry out their orders and were taken back to Russia on Dec. 19.
Numerous cases of military personnel refusing to carry out criminal orders and take part in combat have been recorded in the Russian army. These “refuseniks” are often arrested and charged with criminal penalties, or simply disappear as part of in-unit disciplinary proceedings.
Russian occupation authorities in occupied Luhansk Oblast are planning to place 16-year-old Ukrainian boys on the "military register,” making them available for conscription by the Russian military, according to Luhansk Oblast Governor Artem Lysohor.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
