Atesh claims destruction of rare Russian Railways recovery vehicle in Voronezh

The Atesh partisan movement said its agents had destroyed a rare Russian Railways recovery vehicle in the Russian city of Voronezh in what it described as a sabotage operation behind enemy lines on June 7.
According to the movement, the sabotage operation was carried out at a railway station.
A heavy EDK-300/5 railway recovery crane was destroyed. The model is no longer in production.
"The EDK-300/5 is designed for complex railway recovery operations and is capable of lifting loads weighing up to 300 tons ... Replacing the destroyed crane will require significant time and resources," the movement said.
Atesh said only a handful of such cranes remain in the possession of Russian Railways (RZD), meaning that each loss further complicates efforts to repair damaged infrastructure and respond to accidents at key transport hubs.
"While Putin's army searches for a replacement, the railway hub and regional logistics network are operating with limited recovery capacity. Even deep in the rear, critical equipment is not immune from destruction," the movement said.
Earlier, partisans disrupted the operation of several communications towers in the Putilkovo, Kommunarka and Domodedovo areas of Russia's Moscow Oblast.
