Interpol hunts Ukrainian woman in Monaco assassination attempt on tycoon

The International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) issued a wanted notice for Ukrainian citizen Anastasiia Berezovska on July 3. She is suspected of involvement in an assassination attempt on Ukrainian businessman Vadym Iermolaiev in Monaco, according to information on Interpol’s website.
A red notice — an international wanted alert — was published for the 39-year-old Ukrainian woman. The notice states that she was born in June 1987, has a snake-shaped tattoo on her right arm, dark hair and speaks German.
According to BFMTV sources, the woman is suspected in connection with an explosion in Monaco that injured three people, including Iermolaiev.
Surveillance cameras captured Berezovska’s location in Germany. According to an internal Monaco police memo obtained by BFMTV, the woman is likely “disguising herself to look like a man.”
Explosion in Monaco
A powerful explosion rocked a residential building in Monaco on the border with France on June 29. Three people were injured — a couple in their 50s or 60s and a 13-year-old teenager. Among the injured adults were Ukrainian businessman Vadym Iermolaiev and his companion Anna Nasobina.
According to media reports, the explosion was caused by a bag left near the building entrance. The suspect left the explosive device and detonated it when the family returned home.
In 2021, Forbes magazine estimated Iermolaiev’s wealth at $220 million.
In 2019, the businessman renounced his Ukrainian citizenship and obtained Cypriot citizenship. In 2023, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy put into effect a National Security and Defense Council decision imposing sanctions on Iermolaiev.
