Bulgaria signs declaration of support for Ukraine's NATO membership

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and
Bulgarian
Prime Minister Nikola Dimitrov signed a declaration in support of Ukraine’s
integration into the EU and NATO, Deputy Head of the President's Office, Ihor
Zhovkva, said in a Facebook post on July 6.
Bulgaria is the 22nd country to formally endorse Ukraine's NATO membership, according to Zhovkva. The declaration affirms that Ukraine's alliance membership is the only way to provide adequate security for Ukraine and the entire Euro-Atlantic community.
Bulgaria also recognized Ukraine's progress towards Euro-Atlantic integration, committed to bolstering efforts to support Ukraine's integration into NATO and the implementation of alliance standards, and voiced support for the Ukraine-NATO Council.
Bulgaria reaffirmed its willingness to continue political and material support for Ukraine – both within NATO and on a bilateral basis. It also indicated its readiness to participate in Ukraine's post-war reconstruction.
Zelenskyy visited Bulgaria on July 6. He and Dimitrov discussed joint energy projects, as well as Kyiv’s NATO aspirations. The Bulgarian PM also supported Zelenskyy’s peace formula, saying that the war must end with Russian troops withdrawing from all of Ukraine.
