Casualties reported as Russia shells three Ukrainian regions in past day
Invading Russian forces continued their attacks on Ukrainian civilian areas on April 15, with casualties reported in Kharkiv Oblast.
In particular, two civilians were killed as a result of artillery shelling of the village of Dvorichna in the Kupyansk District of Kharkiv Oblast, near the front line, while another one received shrapnel wounds and was hospitalized, Kharkiv Governor Oleh Synegubov reported on Telegram.
The Russian invaders also shelled the town of Vovchansk in the Chuhuiv District, causing damage to residential buildings and a local hospital.
In addition, four residential buildings caught fire after the Russians hit the village of Tyshchenkivka in Kupyansk District with multiple launch rocket systems.
In Kherson Oblast, the enemy launched 407 projectiles from heavy artillery, tanks, UAVs, and aircraft. The city of Kherson was shelled 14 times. Six people, including a child, were injured as a result of enemy attacks.
The invaders also struck a Kherson Oblast settlement with guided aerial bombs, while the already destroyed bridge of the Dariyivka Territorial Community came under fire nine times.
Meanwhile, Donetsk Governor Pavlo Kyrylenko said that Russia had launched another missile strike at the town of Kramatorsk overnight on May 16. Three high-rise buildings and a boiler house were damaged as a result of the attack. Fortunately, there were no casualties.
In addition, the invaders hit the town of Kostiantynivka in Donetsk Oblast with S-300 missiles, causing damage to three residential buildings, a school and a gas pipeline. The nearby town of Chasiv Yar also came under heavy enemy shelling, with one person being injured and 17 residential buildings being damaged.
Russia launched another massive attack on Ukraine overnight on May 16. The Russians used various types of missiles, including six Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles.
All 18 missiles were destroyed by the air defense forces of the Ukrainian Air Force, but debris fell in at least five districts of Kyiv.
Solomyanskyi district was affected the most. Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported three people had been injured there, although reports are still being verified.
The Ukrainian authorities called the eighth Russian attack on Kyiv in a month “exceptional in its density,” with the maximum number of missiles launched in the shortest period of time.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
