Expect good news by end of year, says defense minister Reznikov

Ukrainians should expect “good news” from the battlefield by the end of 2022, Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov told the Ukrainian Military TV broadcaster on Aug. 24.
Noting that while a number of factors will determine how the war develops, the minister said he remains optimistic.
“I’m an informed optimist, and I have grounds to hope that we’ll have good news for the Ukrainian society and world, this year,” said Reznikov.
“It’s important for people to experience a major victory.”

The minister added that Ukraine fights for its survival and it will prevail and “break the back of this Goliath.”
