Extended detention for former head of Crimean SBU, who is suspected of treason

A court extended the pre-trial detention for the former head of the SBU in Crimea, Oleg Kulinich, who is suspected of treason, as reported by Suspilne with reference to the defendant's lawyer Dmytro Palamarchuk on Feb. 5.
"The preventive measure was extended for 60 days,” Palamarchuk said.
“We filed an appeal, and the case is scheduled for hearing tomorrow.”
According to the lawyer, Kulinich's health condition is "not very satisfactory” and the court decided that he could receive medical care, not only in the Kyiv pre-trial detention center, but also in other health care facilities.
Palamarchuk added that some 60 days have passed since the decision, but Kulinich has not yet been taken for treatment. According to the lawyer, this is due to certain difficulties in communication with the institution that will send him for treatment.

On July 16, 2022, Kulinich was detained during a special operation by the DBR and the SBU.
According to an investigation, he cooperated with the Russian FSB and received the operational pseudonym “Kotyhoroshko.” His activities were supervised by the so-called "political office" in Moscow, which was organized on the instructions of the Russian secret service by former NSDC Deputy Secretary Volodymyr Sivkovych and former head of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine Andriy Kliuyev.
According to the investigation, even before Russia's full-scale invasion, Kulinich was spying for the aggressor country, placing "his people" in Ukraine's law enforcement agencies, and encouraging citizens to commit treason.
He is currently in custody and faces up to 15 years in prison.
