Russian drone hits Kyiv warehouses, injuries rise to 9

A Russian drone struck a target in Kyiv's Dniprovskyi district on Sept. 9, sparking a fire, according to Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko.
Interfax-Ukraine reported that a Russian drone fell in a non-residential area, several hundred meters from residential buildings in the Dniprovskyi district. A fire broke out following the explosion. Police cordoned off the nearby street and warned of a possible secondary detonation.
Social media users also reported additional explosions in Kyiv after the all-clear signal had already been given.
Klitschko also reported a fire at a warehouse building caused by a drone crash in the Dniprovskyi district. Social media users reported smoke in the area.
Emergency services were headed to the site. According to Klitschko, the number of people injured in the capital as a result of Russia's Sept. 9 drone attack has risen to nine.
The Kyiv City Military Administration, meanwhile, said updated information indicates the fire broke out at a warehouse building, not an apartment building.
Around 1 p.m., new explosions were heard in Kyiv amid the threat of jet-powered drones. Ukraine's Air Force had warned of drones over the capital.
It was previously reported that a Russian jet-powered drone struck a 24-story building in Kyiv's Darnytskyi district, damaging apartments on several floors.
Overnight, strikes hit the Darnytskyi and Holosiyivskyi districts of Kyiv, sparking fires at two cargo trucks, a garage and a two-story non-residential building. Rescuers said all fires have been extinguished.
