Drones hit Russian Izhevsk factory producing drones and Tor missile systems

On the night of Nov. 16-17, drones attacked a workshop at
the Kupol factory in Izhevsk, Udmurtia, one of Russia's largest defense
industry enterprises.
Russian news outlet Astra reported the attack, citing
local residents. According to them, one of the drones hit the factory’s
workshop, where the occupiers produce drones.
“People should have thought earlier when drone factories
were being built in the middle of the city,” said eyewitnesses.
The Udmurtia authorities confirmed an explosion in Izhevsk
at Lenin Street, No. 101, where the factory workshop is located. The head of
the region, Oleksandr Brechalov, stated that a drone fell on the factory
workshop.
Brechalov said that the explosion shattered glass at the
production site, but no significant damage occurred. The factory staff was
evacuated, and one worker sustained injuries.
As later confirmed
by Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at
Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council (NSDC), drones targeted the
Izhevsk Electromechanical Kupol Factory.
According to Kovalenko, the factory produces Tor
surface-to-air missile systems, radar stations, and other components for the
Russian military.
On the night of Oct. 20, drones also attacked the Yakov
Sverdlov factory in Dzerzhinsk, Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, which was one of Russia’s
largest producers of industrial explosives.
Sources in Ukrainian intelligence services reported to NV
that the attack was organized by the SBU. According to Ukrainian officers, the
factory is part of the Russian defense industry and is under EU and U.S.
sanctions due to its products being used in Russia’s war against Ukraine.
