Germany confirms delivery of second Iris-T air defense system to Ukraine

The German government has confirmed on the Bundestag website that it has delivered a second Iris-T SLM air defense system to Ukraine.
Additionally, Germany has provided eight more Zetros trucks (making a total of 84) and two 8x6 trucks with eight rolling containers to the Ukrainian military.
Patriot air defense systems from the United States, the Netherlands, and Germany arrived in Ukraine on April 19.
The Ukrainian Air Force announced on April 23 that the first of its Patriot air defense batteries had been placed on combat duty.
On April 27, it was reported that a second Patriot air defense battery had also been placed on combat duty in Ukraine.
A day later, on April 28, Russia launched its latest mass missile attack on Ukraine in the early hours of the morning.
While Ukraine’s air defenses managed to shoot down 21 of the incoming Russian cruise missiles, including 11 shot down that were heading for the capital Kyiv, one missile struck an apartment building in Uman, and another hit a house in Dnipro.
In Uman, a town in central Ukraine, south of Kyiv, 23 people were killed and 18 injured after a missile partially collapsed a nine-story apartment building. Five of the dead were children.
In Dnipro, a city in southeastern Ukraine, a young mother and her three-year-old daughter were killed in a second missile strike.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
