Drone strike sparks fire at Russian gunpowder plant — video
Drones struck the Russia's Tambov Gunpowder Plant, located in the town of Kotovsk, causing a fire, local Telegram channels wrote early on June 11.
Local residents shared videos showing the blaze.
Tambov Oblast governor confirmed that Kotovsk was attacked by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and that the strike resulted in a fire.
According to Astra, the footage shows the area near the plant, identifiable by two red-and-white chimneys frequently seen in local media photos of the gunpowder facility.
This is not the first drone attack on the site.
On the night of May 29, drones struck the same plant, igniting a fire on the roof of one of its storage buildings. The facility was also targeted in January 2025, July 2024, and November 2023.
Tambov Gunpowder Plant is one of Russia’s largest producers of explosives. It specializes in manufacturing over 200 types of products, including pyroxylin gunpowder for small arms, hand grenades, grenade launcher rounds, artillery, and mortar ammunition.
