Iran executes three men accused of spying for Mossad
On June 25, Iran executed three men who had been convicted
of collaborating with Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency and smuggling, Reuters
reported.
According to Iranian authorities, equipment smuggled by the
men was used in the killing of an unnamed individual.
Reuters noted that Iran has executed a significant number of
people it claims were involved with Mossad or assisted its operations inside
the country.
Israel’s operation targeting Iran’s nuclear program began on June 13. Since then, the two countries have exchanged strikes involving hundreds of missiles and drones.
As of June 18, local media reported that 24
people had been killed and more than 500 injured in Israel as a result of
Iranian attacks. Iran, for its part, claimed at least 224 deaths on its
territory, including senior officials, nuclear scientists, and military
personnel.
On June 24, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that Israel
and Iran had reached an agreement on a full ceasefire.
Axios reported that the ceasefire was scheduled to begin at
midnight Eastern Time — 7 a.m. Kyiv time — on June 24. Both sides were expected
to wrap up ongoing military operations by that hour.
Later the same day, the Israeli prime minister’s office said
Israel had struck a military site north of Tehran on June 24 but held off on
further attacks following a call between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and
Trump.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
