Red notebook with provocative name catches eye in Budanov's office

A red notebook with an interesting inscription was spotted on the desk in the office of the Head of the Presidential Office of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, Babel publication reported on April 27.
The publication's journalists visited the official's office and showed what they saw there. A red notebook titled the "List of a**holes-2026" drew attention among other things, in particular.
A large chessboard is also on the nearby table, and an icon can be seen above his head.
A photo gallery of Ukrainian presidents and the heads of their offices, administrations, and secretariats is located before the entrance to the reception room, media workers say. This "Wall of Memory" appeared after Budanov's appointment, the publication noted.
Among them are Dmytro Tabachnyk, Andrii Kliuyev, and Viktor Medvedchuk, who were stripped of their Ukrainian citizenship, as well as a photo of fugitive President Viktor Yanukovych — this is Budanov's principled position. People should know the true history of the institution they work in, according to him.
A small drawing demonstrating the difference between a boss and a leader — that is, an example for subordinates — can also be noticed in the photos released by journalists from the Presidential Office head's room. This image is from Budanov's previous office when he held the post of Military Intelligence (HUR) chief and where an NV correspondent previously visited.
Budanov's office as chief was "more like a museum than the workplace of the country's top military intelligence officer," NV journalist Maksym Butchenko said at the time.
"There was a place for a grenade on the desk, the map of the Russia's collapse already known even to Russians, numerous awards and diplomas, telephones, an aquarium, a miniature with Snake Island, paintings, and a photo portrait of the President of Ukraine," the NV article about Budanov's office read back in 2023.
