A massive Russian missile attack struck Dnipro city, causing casualties and significant damage to residential and commercial properties, Dnipropetrovsk Governor Serhiy Lysak reported on July 8.
Updated at 14:10: Casualties toll rises to 12 in Dnipro - five people hospitalized, one in critical condition, city governor Serhiy Lysak reported.
One man was killed and six people were injured in Dnipro, one person in critical condition. 37 people were reported injured in Kryvyi Rih as of 1:00 p.m., Lysak said.
An enterprise was damaged in Kryvyi Rih, a fire erupted there. Preliminary reports indicate 10 fatalities and more than 37 injured.
Russian missile attack on July 8
Russia launched extensive strikes on Kyiv, Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, and other Ukrainian cities in the morning and afternoon of July 8.
This attack is one of the largest and most devastating this year.
The Russian forces hit the Okhmatdyt Children's Hospital and a residential building in Kyiv's Shevchenkivskyi district.
Nine people were killed and 11 injured in the capital. Rescue operations and debris removal are ongoing, reports indicate.
Russians fired more than 40 missiles at Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported.
At least 20 people were killed and around 50 injured across the country in total, Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko said.
