Moscow police detain pensioner for setting fire to Russian military official’s car
A 65-year-old woman has been detained in Russia’s capital city of Moscow on suspicion of setting fire to a BMW X6 car owned by Evgeniy Sekretarev, the Deputy Chief of the 8th Directorate of the Russian General Staff, local media reported on Aug. 27.
Sekretarev’s department is responsible for maintaining secrecy, including information encryption and military censorship.
According to local media, the woman explained her actions as “opposing the special military operation,” which Russia is conducting against Ukraine.
The Kremlin uses the propaganda terminology “special military operation” for its full-scale war and invasion of Ukraine to attempt to conceal from the Russian public the motives behind its latest military campaign against its neighbor.
Earlier, Daria Dugina, the daughter of “Putin ideologist” Alexander Dugin, was killed in a car bombing near Moscow late on Aug 20. Like her father, Dugina was actively engaged in propaganda, justified the Russian war against Ukraine, and advocated the genocide of the Ukrainian people.
