Frontline rotations delayed by active Russian assaults — National Guard commander

There is currently no large-scale rotation of brigades despite the increase in the number of conscripted soldiers, Brigadier General Oleksandr Pivnenko, commander of the National Guard, said in an interview with Ukrinform on July 25.
Due to active Russian assaults along the entire front line and the need to strengthen borders, rotations will be delayed, according to Ukrainian National Guard Commander Oleksandr Pivnenko.
"There will be rotations, but later, because everyone is at the front," Pivnenko said.
He noted that tasks include reinforcing borders in frontline and de-occupied territories, among other duties. Currently, there are no plans for brigade-level rotations, but battalion or company group rotations might be possible.
"The enemy is trying to conduct active operations along the entire frontline, so we must have concentrated forces; we are engaging our special forces," he added.
Pivnenko also mentioned that the number of conscripts and new recruits joining the National Guard has quadrupled.
He predicted that once hostilities decrease, Ukraine will build up and develop its army similarly to Israel, while considering its own national interests and experiences, to ensure survival alongside Russia.
A new law on mobilization came into force in Ukraine on May 18, requiring 4,690,496 Ukrainians liable for military service to update their data by July 16, 2024.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy previously stated that Ukraine had a rotation plan to withdraw brigades from the combat zone for rest, contingent on the supply of weapons from partners.
