Netherlands begins transfer of UAVs to Ukraine
The Netherlands is now shipping UAVs to Ukraine as part of the “drone coalition” initiative, aimed at equipping the Ukrainian military with enough drones to counter Russian forces on the battlefield, Dutch Defense Minister Kajsa Ollongren said in an interview with Delfi on Feb. 19.
“I cannot specify the exact number, but we have already begun transferring drones to Ukraine...,” said Ollongren.
“The drone coalition is very significant because now we are combining efforts [with other international partners], which means that we can increase the number of drones... according to Ukraine's needs.”
She also added that Ukrainian pilots continue to undergo training on F-16 aircraft. With the Netherlands planning to transfer F-16s to Ukraine in the future.
“We are also preparing the planes for actual transfer; we announced that we would transfer 24 F-16 aircraft along with Denmark and Norway as soon as possible,” the minister said.
“But everything has to be ready... I am confident that we can proceed with their transfer this year.”
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
