New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon announced a 16 million New Zealand dollar ($9.8 million) aid package for Ukraine during NATO summit, Ukraine's Ambassador to Australia Vasyl Myroshnychenko said on Facebook on July 10.
The aid will be distributed in two areas:
- 6 million New Zealand dollars ($3.68 million) for the army;
- 10 million New Zealand dollars ($6.12 million) for humanitarian needs.
The military aid includes $2.45 million for the Drone Coalition led by the United Kingdom and Latvia, as well as $1.23 million for Ukraine's military medical needs, Myroshnychenko added.
In total, New Zealand has already provided 130 million New Zealand dollars ($79.5 million) in aid to Ukraine.
The New Zealand government announced on May 16 additional sanctions against 28 individuals and 14 entities that provide military and strategic support to Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
