One week into Ukraine’s counteroffensive – Russia is losing far more than Ukraine – Deputy DM
Ukraine’s losses are far smaller than those of Russia – and it is not profitable for the Russian occupiers to continue to supply weapons to Ukraine, Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Malyar said on national television.
She cited stats saying that on the fronts near Khortytsia and Tavria, the enemy lost nine and five times more than Ukraine, respectively.
“In general, during the entire war, and if we talk about the full-scale invasion in particular, we have far fewer losses. If we talk about the current numbers, for example in the last week, we actually have two forward groupings of troops where the offensive is being carried out – Khortytsia and Tavria. As for Khortytsia, the enemy has 8.73 times more casualties. Regarding Tavria, there are 5.3 times as many enemy casualties than ours,” she said.
Malyar emphasized that “certainly, during the war, people die,” equipment is destroyed, and all parties suffer losses.
“However, our losses are incomparably smaller than the enemy’s,” she said.
She noted that the enemy is making “inaccuracies” about Ukraine’s heavy losses in an effort to demoralize Ukraine society and soldiers, as well as to “hit hard” on mobilization.
The Ukrainian Defense Ministry said that another information target for Russia is the military equipment supplied to Ukraine.
“It is not profitable for them that the West supplies us with weapons, so they discredit both us as a recipient of weapons and Western equipment as a tool of war. Of course, in war, both sides lose equipment, and there is no such equipment that cannot be destroyed. Our losses are much smaller,”, said Malyar.
She pointed out that even in the event of the destruction of a unit of equipment, the crews are usually saved.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
