Ukraine reportedly sends troops and tanks into Russia's Kursk Oblast

Russia's Ministry of Defense announced ongoing fighting in the Kursk Oblast on Aug. 6, claiming that clashes began at 8 a.m.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, 300 soldiers from Ukraine's 22nd Mechanized Brigade, supported by 11 tanks and over 20 armored vehicles, approached the border. They allegedly attacked border guards in the villages of Mykolaivka-Daryne and Oleshne. The Russian Federal Security Service's border troops and Aerospace Forces are reportedly engaging the Ukrainian forces, and the occupiers claim they are deploying reinforcements.
Russian propagandists began reporting a Ukrainian incursion into the Sudzha district of the Kursk region earlier in the day. Kursk-based Telegram channels reported that three Ukrainian tanks, accompanied by infantry, advanced towards the villages of Kurylivka and Honcharivka. The authorities in the Kursk region claimed that Ukrainian forces had been stopped.
The Ukrainian government has not officially commented on these events.
