Russia hits Selydove with eight missiles, likely North Korean, one fatality reported — police

Russia attacked Selydove, Donetsk Oblast, firing eight missiles — S-300 anti-aircraft and North Korean KN-23s, revealed preliminary data from Donetsk Oblast Police on Feb. 8.
Rescuers retrieved the body of a 50-year-old woman from the debris, while seven others, including a six-year-old boy, sustained injuries. The victims, aged 18, 38, 42, 51, 64, and 88, were all hospitalized.
The Russian attack damaged 53 apartment buildings, ten houses, four educational institutions, two administrative buildings, a private enterprise, and 24 vehicles, according to preliminary reports.

Kharkiv Oblast Police reported on Feb. 7 that Russia had attacked the city with two missiles, likely North Korean in origin.
The U.S. earlier reported that Russia employed North Korean ballistic missiles against Ukraine on Dec. 30, 2023, and Jan. 2 and 6, 2024, with the latest launches occurring on Jan. 6.
Ukrainian Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin said on Jan. 11 that the Prosecutor General's Office had received the first evidence of Russia's use of North Korean missiles.
North Korea dismissed U.S. accusations of transferring ballistic missiles to Russia for the war against Ukraine as baseless.
