Russia loses 1k+ soldiers, 36 artillery systems, and special equipment in 24 hours in Ukraine
Russia lost 1140 soldiers in Ukraine in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of its losses to over 587,000 since the war outbreak, Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff reported on Aug. 8.
Russian military losses are as follows:
- personnel: 587,510 (+1,140)
- tanks: 8,431 (+2)
- armored fighting vehicles: 16,332 (+9)
- artillery systems: 16,487 (+36)
- multiple rocket launch systems: 1,142 (+4)
- air defense systems: 914 (+4)
- aircraft: 366 (+1)
- helicopters: 327 (+1)
- operational-tactical UAVs: 13,293 (+81)
- cruise missiles: 2,424 (+3)
- ships/boats: 28 (no change)
- submarines: 1 (no change)
- vehicles and fuel tanks: 22,285 (+59)
- special equipment: 2,767 (+8).
Russian losses in the war against Ukraine
Between 462,000 and 728,000 Russian soldiers were killed and wounded in Russia's war against Ukraine, according to data from classified Pentagon documents, The Economist newspaper wrote on July 7.
Russia's average daily losses in May and June rose to a record 1,262 and 1,163 soldiers, respectively, British intelligence reported on July 12. The invaders have lost approximately 70,000 soldiers in Ukraine over the past two months in total.
The Russian losses at the front three times exceed those of Ukraine, and "in some directions the ratio is even higher," the AFU Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi said.
At least 61,000 Russian soldiers have been killed since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion, the Russian BBC and Mediazona reported on July 26.
