Russian war against Ukraine affects China’s plans for Taiwan, Stoltenberg says

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg
believes that the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine affects China's plans for
a possible invasion of Taiwan.
In a comment to CNN on May 10, Stoltenberg emphasized that "what is happening in Europe is important for Asia, and what is happening in Asia is important for Europe."
“Security has a global character: Beijing is closely watching what is happening in Ukraine, the price that (Russian) President Putin is paying, as well as the potential benefits,” said Stoltenberg.
“Therefore, what is happening in Ukraine actually matters for Beijing's calculations regarding Taiwan, for example.”
Earlier, Polish PM Mateusz Morawiecki stated that Ukraine's defeat could push China to attack Taiwan "the next day."
Taiwan’s Foreign Ministry previously assessed that PRC could attempt to invade the island in 2027.
In recent years, Chinese leader Xi Jinping repeatedly said he wants to achieve "historic reunification" with Taiwan. Besides geopolitical ramifications, a Chinese invasion of Taiwan would cause a catastrophic shock to the global economy, given that Taiwanese companies produce much of global microchip supply.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
