SES chief: 93 Ukrainian rescuers killed, 400 injured since invasion
Since the start of the full-scale invasion, the Russian army has killed 93 employees of Ukraine's State Emergency Service (SES), and more than 400 Ukrainian rescuers have been injured. Andriy Danik, head of the SES, revealed these grim statistics in an interview with Interfax Ukraine on July 19.
"We lose people almost every day," Danik said. "Recently, the enemy has been targeting our employees. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, 93 SES employees have been killed and almost 400 have been injured. But these figures are increasing every day."
Danik explained that rescuers are continuously developing security algorithms, changing their approaches, and inventing new organizational or technical means of protection to adapt to the evolving threats.
"As soon as the enemy finds out something, they make adjustments to their actions," he said. "And it turns out that what was relevant and working a month ago is no longer working today."
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
