Ukraine and U.S. conduct two more joint inspections of American weapons, no reports of noncompliance
Ukraine’s Defense Ministry and Armed Forces have conducted two joint inspections of American weapons with US inspectors, the Ministry’s press center reported on Telegram on Feb. 28.
The inspections were aimed at verifying the weapons’ serial numbers and their technical condition, as well as storage conditions, in terms of safety and security. During the inspections, the U.S. did not report any violations or non-compliance.
Three inspections have already been carried out since the beginning of 2024 according to the physical inspection plan, the Defense Ministry said.
The results will be used to develop instructions regulating the attraction, receipt, accounting and use of international military assistance, Deputy Defense Minister Yuriy Dzhygyr said.
On Jan. 20, Ukrainian and U.S. officials conducted the first joint inspection of weapons and equipment provided by Washington.
On Jan. 23, U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said the Pentagon had found no signs of misuse of the equipment.
In November 2023, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry implemented a program of end-use reporting for all military equipment provided to Ukraine by international partners. On Dec. 14, a plan for joint physical inspection of weapons was agreed with the US side.
