Ukraine shell production significantly higher than last year, says Kamyshin
Ukraine is producing artillery shells at a rate significantly higher than the previous year, according to Strategic Industries Minister Oleksandr Kamyshin, who was speaking at the NATO-Industry Forum in Stockholm on Oct. 25.
"As for the capabilities of the domestic defense industry, we are growing significantly. If we talk about shells, for example, we are now producing many times more of them than last year," Kamyshin said.
However, no matter how much Ukraine increases local production, it will still be heavily dependent on Western supplies for the foreseeable time, Kamyshin said.
“This is because we are fighting the biggest war in generations, and the level of ammunition consumption is quite high," Kamyshin added.
