Ukrainian forces destroy one Su-34 jet and damage two more in Russian Morozovsk airfield

Ukrainian Defense Forces targeted Russia's Morozovsk airfield on Aug. 3, destroying a Russian Su-34 bomber, two more jets were likely damaged by debris, Ukrainian Mililtary Intelligence reported on August 5.
The destruction and damage of the Su-34 bombers were confirmed by satellite reconnaissance. Craters from explosions were observed near the aircraft.
An aviation armament depot was completely destroyed. Satellite images captured large swaths of scorched earth on and around the airfield, caused by secondary detonations of Russian munitions.
The strike damaged four technical buildings and two hangars at the airbase.
Russian Morozovsk is located 265 kilometers from the frontline.
August 3 Morozovsk airfield attack
Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff confirmed the strike on the Morozovsk airfield in Rostov Oblast, along with attacks on oil depots in three other Russian oblasts on August 3.
The strike in Morozovsk hit ammunition depots that housed, among other things, guided aerial bombs.
Schemes media published satellite photos of Morozovsk, confirming the fires on August 4.
Most of the fighter jets previously stationed at the airfield were removed following the attack, journalists suggest.
