Ukrainian parliament set to extend martial law, mobilization for another three months
Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada will extend martial law and general mobilization in Ukraine for another three months, deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak reported on Telegram on July 26.
This will be the eighth vote since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion. It is likely that martial law will be extended until Nov. 15.
Prior to parliamentary approval, the decrees must be signed and submitted to the Rada by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Then they must be approved by the relevant committee.
Currently, martial law and general mobilization are in effect until Aug. 18.
Martial law was declared in Ukraine after the start of Russia's full-scale invasion. At the same time, general mobilization was announced.
During general mobilization, all citizens of Ukraine who are liable for military service between the ages of 18 and 60 can be called up for military service, unless they have legal grounds for a deferral or exclusion from military registration.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
