Ukrainian suspected of directing Russian attack on Kramatorsk arrested
A Dnipro City court has ordered a two-month
custody for the suspect believed to have coordinated the June 27 Russian
missile strike on a pizza
café in Kramatorsk, an attack that claimed the lives of at least 12 people.
The ruling was made on June 30, reported by Ukrainian media outlet Graty via
Telegram.
According to the report, citing both court documents and prosecutor's office sources, the suspect is Volodymyr Synelnyk, an employee of a local gas transportation company.
Synelnyk was charged with treason. The investigation suggests that he was remotely recruited by Russian special services. On June 27, he was instructed to verify information regarding the purported presence of Ukrainian defenders in Kramatorsk. He filmed cars with military license plates parked near the pizzeria in Kramatorsk, subsequently sending the video to his Russian handler. Shortly afterwards, Russia targeted the site with an Iskander-M ballistic missile.
The victims of the Russian attack included three children—a 17-year-old girl and a pair of 14-year-old twins. Over 60 people sustained injuries in the strike, including three Colombian citizens and a renowned Ukrainian writer.
