US intelligence confirms Russian involvement in fake election videos

A video purportedly showing vote tampering in Georgia is a forgery and the work of "Russian influence actors," who are trying to cast doubt on the fairness of the upcoming U.S. presidential elections, AP reported on Nov. 1, citing U.S. intelligence officials.
The FBI and other federal agencies issued a statement regarding the fake video four days before the election to counter "foreign disinformation."
Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger also stated on Oct. 31 that the video is "obviously fake" and likely the work of Russian trolls attempting to sow discord and chaos ahead of the election.
Last week, the FBI made a similar statement about another video allegedly produced by Russian agents, which showed the destruction of mail-in ballots in Pennsylvania.
In a 20-second clip circulated on Twitter, a man presenting himself as an immigrant from Haiti claims he intends to vote multiple times in two Georgia counties for Vice President Kamala Harris.
He displays several alleged Georgia state IDs with different names and addresses. However, an analysis by the AP of two of these IDs revealed they did not match any registered voters in Gwinnett and Fulton counties, which he mentioned.
U.S. intelligence expects Russia to "create and distribute additional media content aimed at undermining faith in the election's integrity and dividing Americans" in the days leading up to the election and in the weeks and months following it, according to a joint statement by the FBI, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.
