‘Whole graveyard’ of Russian military equipment in war-torn region north of Avdiivka

Dmytro Lazutkin, spokesperson for the 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade, in an interview with Radio NV on Jan. 27, disclosed a grim reality north of Avdiivka – from Krasnohorivka to the railway, and from the railway to Stepove – there is an area “the size of a football field” with over a hundred bodies of Russian soldiers who will never return to their families.
He also mentioned a “whole graveyard of Russian military equipment.”
“The enemy is currently suffering significant losses, which will sooner or later become evident,”said Lazutkin.
“Therefore, this is a massive and crucial task being carried out near Avdiivka,” he concluded.
Russian-Ukrainian war veteran and reserve Major Oleksiy Hetman, speaking on Radio NV on Jan. 24, said that the Defense Forces efficiently neutralize enemy forces and equipment in Avdiivka, highlighting considerably higher Russian losses, with a loss ratio of one to ten.
Russian forces intensified their offensive on Avdiivka in October 2023, coinciding with mass strikes on the city.
In the first month of active assaults on Avdiivka, the aggressor country lost around 10,000 military personnel, said Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valerii Zaluzhnyi.
Kyrylo Budanov, Ukraine’s HUR military intelligence service’s chief, declared in January that Russian losses in recent attempts to capture Avdiivka have significantly increased.
