Zelenskyy categorically rules out Ukrainian involvement in Nord Stream pipelines sabotage

Ukraine has no connection to the sabotage of the Russian Nord Stream pipelines in September 2022, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in an interview with Politico on June 7.
Zelenskyy commented on media reports regarding alleged plans by Ukrainian military personnel to undermine the Nord Stream pipelines.
“I am president and I give orders accordingly,” Zelenskyy said.
“Nothing of the sort has been done by Ukraine. I would never act that way.”
Zelenskyy also called on those who accuse Ukraine of sabotage to present evidence.
U.S. President Joe Biden’s administration likely knew about the plan to destroy the Nord Stream pipelines involving Ukrainian military personnel, reported The Washington Post.
During the night of Sept. 26, 2022, three out of four strands of the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines were destroyed by explosions in the neutral waters of the Baltic Sea. Both pipelines were not operational at the time but were filled with technical gas.
Poland and Ukraine accused Russia of the explosions, while the Kremlin regime, in turn, accused the “Anglo-Saxons” and denied involvement.
Earlier, media reports citing sources claimed that the yacht used by a group of suspected saboteurs belonged to Ukrainian citizens.
Ukraine had no connection to the pipeline sabotage, Mykhailo Podoliak, an advisor to the Head of the President’s Office, stated at that time.
Minister of Defense Oleksiy Reznikov said, “It is a rather strange story that has nothing to do with us.”
