Russian forces struck a shopping center in Mykolaiv with jet-powered Shahed drones on the evening of Sept. 4 and overnight into Sept. 5, injuring two people, regional authorities said.
A 72-year-old man was initially injured in the attack and hospitalized. Russian forces later carried out a second strike on the shopping center, injuring a 17-year-old girl, the regional military administration said.
Mykolaiv Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych said Russian forces struck the city, according to preliminary information, with Shahed-238 drones. The explosions shattered windows in residential buildings.
Suspilne reported that an Epicentr shopping center in Mykolaiv was hit, sparking a fire.
Russian forces have repeatedly attacked Epicentr stores and other civilian shopping centers across Ukraine.
On Aug. 27, Russian forces struck an Epicentr store in Kharkiv's Osnovianskyi district, killing one man and injuring five others.
On Aug. 28, an Epicentr store in Zaporizhzhia was destroyed. Strikes on shopping centers in Odesa and other cities had also been reported earlier.
