Drones torch Russia’s key oil hub in Novorossiysk

A fire broke out at a major Russian Black Sea oil hub in the port city of Novorossiysk following an overnight drone attack, Dnipro Osint reported on April 6 after analysis of numerous photos and videos on social media.
Loading berths 1 and 2 at the Sheskharis oil terminal were set ablaze, along with critical infrastructure used to manage oil flows.
The damage reportedly includes units of the oil metering and distribution system, as well as pipeline control valves — essential components that regulate and account for oil transfers between berths. Hitting both primary loading piers and the control nodes at once could effectively halt shipments from the facility.
The Sheskharis terminal is a strategic asset in Russia’s Black Sea export network, handling significant volumes of crude oil and petroleum products. Any disruption to its operations could have broader implications for Russia’s energy exports.
