Russia captures another village near Pokrovsk, but lose positions in New York, Donetsk Oblast - DeepState
Ukraine's defense forces repelled attacks in the village of New York, Donetsk Oblast, but the Russian troops captured the village of Serhiivka near Pokrovsk, DeepState analysts reported on Telegram on Aug. 7.
Russia also advanced near the settlements of Pereizne, Vodyane, Novoselivka Persha, Timofiivka, Lysichne, Hrodivka, Novozhelanne, Zhelanne, and Ivanivka, DeepState said.
The most combat clashes took place near Pokrovsk, the General Staff reported in the night summary.
The Russian forces made 21 attempts to break through the Ukraine's defenses near eight different settlements. The areas of Vozdvizhenka, Novooleksandrivka, Hrodivka, and Yasnobrodivka witnessed the most attacks.
The enemy is also actively bombarding the city of Toretsk, the General Staff said. The fighting continues near Chasiv Yar.
Frontline situation in Donetsk Oblast
Russian troops are intensively moving in the direction of Pokrovsk and are having significant tactical successes, ISW reported on July 30.
Toretsk remains under the control of the Ukraine's Armed Forces, Toretsk City Military Administration said on July 31. DeepState reported fighting on the approaches to the settlement.
The Russians crossed the water obstacle in Chasiv Yar, former Aidar battalion company commander Yevhen Dykyi said on August 6. Now fighting continues in the city center after the Ukrainian Defense Forces withdrew from the Kanal district in July.
Footage of the raising of the Russian tricolor over the New York educational building in Donetsk Oblast appeared on the Internet on the same day. Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Combating Disinformation at the NSDC, denied the information about the settlement's complete capture.
